In the last year or so I’ve noticed an influx of High Definition (HD) makeup, and it makes me wonder: Does it really make a difference? Are people really looking at the size of someone’s pores while they’re watching a movie? And more importantly, do everyday people need it? There is, after all, a little Norma Desmond in us all.
So I decided to try it for myself. I went to Sephora and sampled the Make Up For Ever HD Microfinish Powder. I must say, I was impressed. After I applied the powder, my skin not only felt great but it looked pretty awesome, too. My dark complexion didn’t look powdery or fake, whereas in the past finishing powders have left me looking like I’m wearing a veil.
Another thing is that HD Powder has zero glitter or shimmer in it. Sometimes I want a bit of shimmer, most times I don’t. Instead, my skin was glowing and highlighted in all the right places—without looking like I’d just celebrated New Years Eve.
