There’s not much that Giles Deacon hasn’t done. After graduating from Central Saint Martins, the 2007 British Designer of the Year did a stint at Vuitton, worked side by side with Tom Ford at Gucci and, of course, launched Giles, his provocative signature label. Always with his finger on the pulse, Deacon combines pop culture with masterful constriction to create sharp collections that are both witty and wearable.
Now, he has brought these skills to reviving the lost art of letter writing. In a recent collaboration with Smythson, the edgy Brit designed a limited edition set of “haute couture” stationary. Dry-stamped with one of five distinctively Deacon sketches, each correspondence card features a smartly styled black and white figure. For formal letters, one might choose the card with an elegant evening gown. If the author’s dropping a casual line, she may select the note with a sweet printed day dress. And if it’s a steamy love letter she’s writing, the card featuring a sassy vixen in a thigh-bearing cocktail number is the obvious choice.
Deacon wanted the cards to radiate an “unmistakable sense of fun.” But they’re far beyond fun; they’re classy, they’re cheeky and they are, without a doubt, a swanky way to stay in touch.

Where can I buy these? So much more stylish than Crane’s stationery!
