Scented and Soothing Shampoos

The best shampoos smell amazing and cleanse without irritating sensitive scalps. (No one wants to be seen scratching an itchy head, and everyone would like to have luscious-smelling hair.) Some sophisticated options to consider are…

Warren-Tricomi Pure Strength Shampoo: Step one of the three-part hair care system created by expert colorist Joel Warren and stylist Edward Tricomi of the famed Warren-Tircomi Salon. Great for all hair types including color-treated hair, this rich lather soothes the scalp with arnica, nettle and sea algae extracts, is exotically scented with fig and cassis and cruelty free.

McBride Beauty Grapefruit and Sage Daily Shampoo is infused with grapefruit, lavender and sage, but without synthetic perfumes. This clean-scented recipe with coconut suds up to a creamy lather and is gentle enough for everyday use. The airplane-friendly 3 oz. size is perfect for globetrotting and, as always, is paraben, sulfate and cruelty free.

Philip Kingsley Flaky and Itchy Scalp Shampoo totally relieves flaking and itchy scalps and is safe for color-treated hair, unlike typical dandruff shampoo, which always smells terrible and viciously strips color. Refreshingly scented with pineapple, this clear shampoo is prescribed for all hair types. Kingsley also makes No Scent, No Color Shampoo and Conditioner to meet the needs of individuals with skin allergies or those undergoing chemo and radiation therapies. All products come in “Jet Set” 2.5 oz. travel sizes or 8.45 oz. bathroom sizes and are cruelty free.

Neil George Everyday Cleanse Orange Blossom Shampoo for normal to dry hair has a great lather with a delightful tangerine essence. Available in an eco-friendly plastic tube, it is also both paraben and cruelty free.

Oribe’s Signature Shampoo is paraben-free and suds up to a delicious apple-jasmine scented froth that silkens all hair types. Moreover, the elegant container looks more like a bottle of expensive French perfume that belongs on the dressing table, not in the shower. I use the Warren Tricomi volumizing shampoo and I love the texture and the scent. I am not surprised that the “strength formula is in your top pics. You are my beauty hero! Your tips are always spot on!
