Trussardi at Milan Fashion Week F/W10

Perhaps only Trussardi’s emblematic greyhounds, who have witnessed the brand grow from its early 1900s incarnation as a glove manufacturer into a proper fashion house, can truly understand the maison’s evolution. Still, creative director Milan Vukmirovic does a pretty good job. Combining the house’s heritage with new, modern leanings, Vukmirovic controls the entire production process, comprising design, art direction, campaign shoots and everything in between.

For F/W10 the oxymoron of new vintage took early ’70s French chic (à la black-and-white photographs by Jeanloup Sieff and David Bailey) as its point of reference, combining it with iconic style from Jane Birkin, Romy Schneider and Catherine Deneuve. The designer than imbued the wares with Trussardi’s subtle signature elegance, offering the robe manteau in wool and Lurex, exhibiting his love of houndstooth and generally presenting a masterful blend of quality fabrics and accessories.
