Although it is often underestimated, clothing and fashion have a unique ability to enable and give identity to women of all social stratas. In the United States, retail is one of the few female dominated industries, and as detailed in these images and the accompanying article in last week’s New York Times Magazine special, it also has the international faculty to liberate and empower.
