Ringing oozy bells and whistles.
Warm in a white warehouse,
with heavy black-rimmed glasses.
Feeling the same urge I sometimes get on the subway
to lean my head on the shoulder beside me.
(I could stay here for a while.)
Not sure if that’s what’s-her-name,
but I’m glad I’m not 13.
Golden-curled girl in front of me
talking of a sailing trip around Svalbard.
Waiting, already I wish I could have waited longer.
Sidney gliding quickly around,
swimming through the breaks in the crowd
as if they were boulders in our blue-lit reef.
Shhh. lights dim. . . . .
