Gucci & Ronson

Mark Ronson has been known to turn his hand as a DJ, music producer and artist. And now the Dossier Issue 1 subject has added shoe designer to his list of Renaissance roles. In collaboration with Gucci creative director Frida Giannini, Ronson has created the Gucci Icon-Temporary: an internationally touring sneaker store.

Launching this week in NYC, the sleek Giannini designed pop-up features a limited edition Gucci Ronson collection of 18 sneaker styles (16 for men, two for women), with a new pair introduced at each destination. To bring a little extra personality to the project, Ronson is also working with a number of artists to produce limited-edition tracks for each opening, and sneakers come with a 12-inch vinyl record boasting exclusive Ronson-selected tunes.

Additionally, the just launched Gucci iPhone application features playlists by both Giannini and Ronson along with one exclusive sneaker model. Further, the app contains in-store exclusives at Gucci Icon-Temporary stores, Gucci Beats, a Gucci Music Channel, a little black book with hotels, restaurants, bars, and more.

The temporary storefront, which is located at 43 Crosby Street, kicks off with a party this Friday, October 23rd and opens to the public the next day. Following its two-week Manhattan run, it will head south to Miami’s Design District to coincide with Art Basel before moving on to London and Tokyo.
