I couldn’t take my eyes off the tactile knits at the Frank Tell presentation, an impressive evolution of F/W09’s covetable cardigans. Something about the beige, grey, soft blue and black-and-white palette read ’60s, a little bit mod (think the original Star Trek) but also a little bit haute hippie.
Looped, stitched and sumptuous, the sweaters evidenced a progression for Tell, who is known for his impeccably tailored dresses cut to flatter the feminine form. This season, the designer stayed true to his skill set while embracing edgier influences, including grommets, sophisticated skins, exposed zippers—and that aforementioned knitwear.
