Erin Wasson’s runway debut for her collaboration with RVCA was a California desert inspired dazzler that pulled out all the special effect stops. Setting the mood in The Tent at Bryant Park was a backdrop playing footage of long drives through evocative, sandy landscapes. Waiting for the show to begin, the audience gave an excited pre-rock show style cheer, which was only fitting since Gang Gang Dance played live as models made their way down the runway in signature Wasson styles and camel-colored desert booties by LD Tuttle. Standouts included a sandy nude leather cape with cutouts at the shoulders and a flowing chiffon dressing-gown-style jacket, which fastens just above the navel and was styled over shorts.
