At the fifth annual Cool vs. Cruel Awards ceremony held at the Bowery Hotel, The Humane Society of the United States awarded the grand prize for its national fur-free fashion design competition to Ingrid Bergstrom-Kendrick from The Art Institute of Vancouver. In addition, they handed out two Compassion in Fashion awards to honorees Charlotte Ronson and Mickey Boardman. Other innovative garments from sixteen finalists were on display while DJ Samantha Ronson added an extra dash of cool to the non-cruel.
