F/W10 marked London-based Australian designer Richard Nicoll’s debut for the French Cerruti. Showing on the final day of Paris and all fashion weeks, Nicoll exemplified fall’s texture trend, featuring a series of tone-on-tone looks ranging from raspberry to grey and from petrol blue to powder beige. The house’s classic tailoring got a makeover via modern textiles, as perforated wool formed trousers and latex became leggings or skirts. Keeping in line with a conservative season, the collection wasn’t revolutionary but teased us with a glimpse of next season, when Nicoll will be comfortably established at the head of the house.
