Ruvan Wijesooriya, known for bringing gallery photography to the pages of Nylon, i-D and V Magazine, had no trouble packing the entire main gallery and bar of the Soho Grand, with an hour’s wait to get in. Gorgeous people, snifters of Patron.
Since Forever is Gone is certainly the kind of show the Fashion Week crowd can congratulate themselves on: We see contorted, chisel-faced girls making love through an almost opaque sheen of red, and a vagina dentata composed of twiggy legs and another girl’s pout. The show’s centerpiece channels the iconic shot of Monroe in the updraft, but this girl is not so much being penetrated by the city air as she is commiserating with it. Uncalm yet unrebellious, it’s a difficult emotion to read, and one that was easy to find replicated in the faces of the viewers.
Since Forever is Gone runs through March 31st.
