The Ostkreuz Agency was created in Berlin in the Nineties by seven photographers who were among the most prominent in what had been East Germany. A show of their work, showing daily life in the doomed Republic, was recently staged at the House of World Cultures in Berlin. The show included work by Ostkreuz founders Sibylle Bergemann, Harald Hauswald, Ute Mahler and Werner Mahler, and Maurice Weis.
