The cover of Fredric Jameson’s latest, The Valences of the Dialectic, made me realize I don’t think I had ever seen an image of Diego Rivera’s infamous Rockefeller Center mural, destroyed before ever being unveiled in 1934 for its inclusion of Lenin. An image of the original mural is above (top), with a recreation he did the following year at the Palacio de Bellas Artes in Mexico City.
