I first came across the work of Ryan Trecartin at The New Museum’s surprisingly engaging “Younger than Jesus” show. His mesmerizing 2007 video I-Be Area can be seen in full on UbuWeb here, but I think I prefer watching it in the “Out of Order YouTube messy-format“. An early video, A Family Finds Entertainment (2004) can be seen on YouTube here.  Wayne Koestenbaum’s text on Trecartin in this month’s Artforum, featuring the sentence “Every year, the distance between a man’s wiener and butthole is shrinking,” is online here.
