Nicholas Lorden is a photographer from New Hampshire who lives in Brooklyn.

The above photograph by Dutch photographer Ed van der Elsken is one of my absolute favorite photographs. It’s perfect. The below photograph of Vali Meyers is taken from his seminal book Love on the Left Bank – also basically a perfect work – and then there are some reportage images, nudes – the list of what he could do just goes on. I really think he was one of the all-time great photographers.

Francois du Chatenet is a photographer based in Paris. These images were taken at a horse show in El Jadida, Morocco.

Before the fanny packs and Andrea Bocelli concerts, your parents (and grandparents) were once free-wheeling, fashion-forward, and awesome. These images come from the My Parents Were Awesome blog, except the last image, which is of my grandparents, who were also awesome.

Virginia Rolston Parrott is a photographer based in Hoboken, NJ. Aside from old cars, some of her other ongoing projects include shadows, Central Park, and the New York City waterfront.

Viviane Sassen is a Dutch fashion photographer and independent artist who spent part of her childhood in Kenya.

Santiago Mostyn produces work representative of creative subcultures in the central United States. He received his BFA from Yale in 2004, studied under Wolfgang Tillmans at the Staedfelschule, Frankfurt, and has collaborated with the artist Swoon and the Miss Rockaway Armada collective on a series of raft-based performances along the Mississippi River.

Sara Gomes is a child of the 80’s who listens to music from the 90’s. She currently works as a freelance photographer in Lisbon, but is constantly traveling.

Angela Jimenez is a photographer based in Brooklyn. These images, taken at the Michigan Womyn’s Music Festival, are from her new book, Welcome Home: Building the Michigan Womyn’s Music Festival. They are being exhibited at the LGBT Center in New York through April 16.
