BYG Actuel was a series of avant-garde/free jazz records put out on the French label BYG Records in the late 1960’s. The understated and repetitive designs now make for some of the most iconic record covers ever released, and the music is still considered to be some of the most extreme recorded.

Jandek is a group of musicians who have been active under the alias since the late 1970’s. They have self-released over sixty albums. This is a small selection of cover images.

These ads depicting women were published in American magazines in the past fifty years.

To accompany our feature on Waris Ahluwalia, we asked him to pony up some images he finds inspiring, a kind of vision board if you will. He did. Not wanting to unravel all of their enchantment, or the romance they hold for him, Waris titled them, tersely, “things that I like.”

This family of birds –teratornithidae – lived in North and South America from the Miocene to the Pleistocene.
