Some of you may remember back to February 11th, when Ruvan Wijesooriya‘s Since Forever Is Gone opened to rave reviews and much excitement. With people spilling out of the entrance of the Soho Grand Hotel at 310 West Broadway and literally queuing around the block, the place was packed; the show a total success, to say the least.
Fast-forward three months and the beautiful photographic exhibit is coming to an end, with the closing reception happening tonight from 6:30pm at the Soho Grand (West Broadway between Canal and Grand).
Ruvan’s work is beautiful, sexy and exciting. He shoots with film, mainly on compact cameras with inbuilt flashes, so there is a feeling of speed and momentariness to his work. He has an uncanny ability to show us the moments we didn’t know we really needed to see, capturing emotions we wouldn’t otherwise recall and throwing them into sharp relief. Tonight is your last chance to see this wonderful exhibition, but if for some reason you can’t make it, Exit Ramp 23 have produced this great video of the opening night:
