Investigating Aberrant Sidewalks

An aberrant sidewalk

One of those backpack rappers once evocatively referred to New York as a city where every crack in the sidewalk’s a symbol.  Over the past few weeks, strange aberrations have been sighted in the sidewalks of various parts of the city whose symbolism is still indeterminate.  Even the causes of the aberrations remain disputed – some have suggested it’s because of global warming, mutant moles, or the spirit of Vigo the Carpathian – and this Saturday (July 11th) between 11am and 1pm the Aberrant Tracking Society will investigate an aberration that has occurred in front of the Brooklyn Library by Grand Army Plaza. There they will test their hypothesis that they are “related to the rise in levels of anxiety and insecurity in the mass population caused by current economic conditions.”  For more information and to discuss the aberrations visit the Aberration Tracking Society’s website.
