When Kye Petersen was six years old, his father- the legendary extreme skier Trevor Petersen died in an avalanche while skiing in Chamonix, France- often called the world’s most dangerous mountains. In the just released documentary The Edge of Never, a 15 year old Kye travels to Chamonix to ski the run his father died on with his dad’s old ski buddies as his coaches. The trailer for the movie is kind of cheesy, but the film itself is a beautiful and interesting look inside the life of people who habitually throw themselves down the steepest mountains in the world for fun. The overwhelming addictive passion these skiiers feel for their sport is inspiring. And after watching the movie, I have a new addiction- Ski Porn. Video after the jump.
