Two women jumped into the ring at Westminster Dog Show last night, moments before the Best in Show award displaying signs that said “Mutts Rule” and the clunkier statement: “Breeders Kill Shelter Dogs’ Chances.” In true terrorist fashion they were “working independently” but were “supported” by PETA. Both women were charged with criminal trespass. PETA believes the emphasis on purebreds at dog shows discourages people from adopting shelter dogs and increases the rate of euthanasia. Go to the no-kill shelter Barc in Brooklyn to adopt or just walk a dog.
