Does Your Soul Have A Cold?

If you’ve been wondering what Mike Mills has been up to since his feature film Thumbsucker debuted in 2005, some of your questions can now be answered.

Mills is more than a filmmaker; he is an established and highly sought-after visual artist who in the last few years alone has collaborated on Miranda July’s book covers and press, album covers for the LA band The Sads, and several of his own projects, some of which have been published through the Nieves imprint.

His latest film is the 2007 documentary “Does Your Soul Have a Cold?,” about Japan’s “discovery” of depression in the 1990s through the marketing efforts of pharmecutical companies.

The film was screened at the IFC last fall and at several international film festivals, but was, until now, unavailable for viewing by the general public. As of last month, it’s available to download in full from iTunes; and for only $3.99 you might have just found a great way to spend an hour or so of your afternoon.
