On Thursday, our good friends Elizabeth Kabler and Sarah Ashely Simmons opened up their new gallery space, Skylight Projects named for the skylight that floods their gallery with natural light. Located in a co-op of galleries at 551 West 21st Street on the fourth floor, the first exhibit was a group show featuring artists Alex Massouras, Andrea Galvani , Jana Benitez, Jee Hwang , Jules Marquis , Tara Israel and The Bill Simmons Collection. For many of these artists it was their first showing in the United States and the response all night was that the work was chosen very carefully by a well-trained eye. The ladies plan on having a bigger opening next month, but for now you can go check out the humble beginnings of something that we predict will end up being a huge success.
