Loomstate put together an event last night at Good Units to celebrate the 40th anniversary of Earth Day, with contributions by Pamela Love, Rogan and Keds, music by Chris Taylor of Grizzly Bear, a tarot card reader and face painter, and a music installation by Hisham Bharoocha (which consisted of a 40 person drum circle and a two story pyramid built by Miles Benjamin Anthony Robinson). Earplugs were given out at the bar, because 40 drums going at the same time is very, very loud. Good Units feels like a throwback space to the late 90′s LES, except it’s uptown. Go figure that. We wandered down a hallway looking for the bathroom and found it wallpapered with every old Interview cover imaginable. The hallway, incidentally, led to nowhere.
