Opening today at Union Gallery is a month long exhibit where Rebeca Raney will be an artist-in-residence of sorts, churning out 1000 drawings over the course of her stay to populate her own fictional world, “RaneyTown.” People are encouraged to come and talk to her and give her inspiration while she creates her own town of drawings. It sounds a little like my childhood only way more glamorous. If you can’t make it, all of her progress will documented on the website RaneyTown. The closing party where you can see the final result is June 4th and includes a party with songs and performances by Raney and Ithai Benjamin.
